Speechbound is GameConCanada’s ‘Most Innovative Indie Game’ 2024

Our team got really excited when we heard that @ASUS would sponsor us to showcase Speechbound at @GameConCanada (GCC) in June 2024.
This was Moonspire Games’ first conference and we passed with flying colors by being honored with the award ‘Most Innovative Indie Game‘ given by @cgmagonline. Thanks so much to Asus and Cgmagonline for supporting our cause, we couldn’t be happier!

Here is what @cgmagonline had to say:

Speechbound looks to be a game meant to teach you language, but one we actually want to play. The developer has a passion for words, having taught himself multiple languages. But when looking for resources, he found that the tools out there either didn’t work or were just boring. He made it his personal task to take his love for language and RPGs to create Speechbound: A Language RPG.

With inspiration from games like Final Fantasy, Eastward, or Sea of Stars, you will battle, explore and solve puzzles, and learn at the same time. Puzzles will require you to answer questions based on another language, so you learn while you play. Speechbound aims to start with four languages but wants to add several more over time. Educational video games can be cheesy or talk down to the player, but Speechbound looks to have some great graphics and mechanics that will keep things interesting, earning it our Game Con Canada Most Innovative Indie Game Award!

Overall, we had a fantastic time at GCC. Thanks to all our supporters who came to our booth to say and playtest our game. We were frankly blown away by the positive reactions we received from the crowd. Seeing big smiles and wide eyes on everybody’s faces was a pleasure to witness when they sat down and started playing. Many complimented us on our NEW TRAILER as well, which we released timely for GCC.

Our prototype is currently running on iOS, Android, and Steam. We invite anybody to join our Discord if they want to give it a play!
